Hello Bring Your Bible to School Day families,
Did you hear the wonderful news? We are rejoicing and thanking God that at least 670,000 students across the country participated in Bring Your Bible to School Day® on October 3! It was truly inspiring to see how God moved through thousands
of fearless, faith-filled students to stir the nation's soul and bring hope to others. "For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations." — Psalm 100:5
Let's keep the movement going! Join with families across the country that live out their faith on a day-to-day basis.
For the first time this year, we are challenging participants to put into practice the “Live It” portion of @BringYourBible’s “Bring It. Share It. Live It.” motto. We’ll be providing monthly challenges
— specific, tangible actions you can take to live out your faith at school and in the community — through email and social media. You’ll receive fun tips and resources to help you and your family gain a deepened understanding of
a biblical, Christian worldview, and also be more intentional in shining the light of God’s love to those around you.
To kick off the @BringYourBible challenges, this week we’re featuring a special video from Sadie Robertson discussing what it means to overcome fear when living out your faith. Click to view the video,
watch it together as a family or church group, and then take some time to ...
Sadie Robertson discusses that scary “moment right before” an amazing skydiving experience — the moment when doubt and fear entered her mind seconds before a joyous experience revealed beautiful horizons. How does that compare
to fears you’ve experienced right before you’ve stepped out in faith to obey God’s leading or share truth with a friend?
Take a moment to share with each other some of those “just before” moments you’ve experienced. It may even have been the moment your kids first shared or read their Bibles in public during Bring Your Bible to School Day®!
Sadie also talks about how God “took away the power of fear” in her life and replaced it with “the power of a sound mind” — referencing 2 Timothy 1:7: “God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power
and love and self-control.”
How have you personally experienced the truth of this verse in your own life? As a family, share with each other some of the fears that you believe God is speaking to you about and challenging you to let go of and take a leap of
faith. Pray together for God to continue working in your hearts to remove fears and empower you to share His truth and love.
If you think about it, your family members have likely already demonstrated the challenge of overcoming fear to express faith, including participation in Bring Your Bible to School Day! This week we’re challenging your family to take it one step further: Invite someone whose religious beliefs you’re not sure about to go to church with you, have dinner at your home or go to a Bible study meeting with you.
Share with us — and other @BringYourBible participants — what happened! Using the tag @BringYourBible, take a moment to post your experience with this challenge on Facebook or Instagram. You can also share a picture of a verse or prayer that inspired your family for this challenge. (Please make sure your post is set to 'public' when you tag us!)
