Healthy Conflict in Marriage: Video 2 — "Conflict vs. Combat"

Here's the second video in "Healthy Conflict in Marriage."

Marriages need conflict to grow, but what causes that tension in the first place? Watch as Greg and Erin describe how your emotions lingering under the surface often can lead to how you respond to your spouse.

So let's get started.

Remember, watch the video below first. Then, answer a few questions in the Go Deeper section at the bottom of the page. Check out the additional resources to get the most out of this series.

Take your next step by doing these three things:

  1. Download the "Healthy Conflict in Marriage" discussion questions and talk with your spouse about them.
  2. Memorize and meditate on Ephesians 4:31-32 (ESV): "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." Write the verses on an index card and put it in a place you will see every day, such as your bathroom mirror.
  3. For a donation of any amount, get your copy of the companion book for this video series called Fight Your Way to a Better Marriage by Dr. Greg Smalley. It will give you additional encouragement as you start turning disagreements into healthy conflict in your home.
